Dr. Natalie Williams is a fourth-generation Pensacola native. Dr. Williams studied at The University of Mississippi, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Business Administration. She continued her educational journey at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, earning a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, Dr. Williams received the Dental Student Award of the Florida Association of Periodontics as well as the Bert Danheisser Scholarship of the Northwest District Dental Association. Dr. Williams completed her periodontal training at the University of Florida receiving her certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science in Dental Science. During residency, Dr. Williams participated in clinical research, receiving an award for her poster presentation on the topic of implant dentistry. Dr. Williams’ passion for periodontics blossomed during dental school and continued to flourish in residency. She believes that the periodontium is the foundation for a healthy mouth. As a foundation provides strength to a building, the gums and bone serve as the anchor that supports the teeth. With this understanding, Dr. Williams is a firm believer in saving teeth for a patient’s lifetime. When teeth have been lost, specialized periodontal surgical techniques provide an opportunity to restore and rehabilitate form, function, and esthetics. The opportunity to preserve and restore patients’ oral health is what inspires Dr. Williams the most about the field of periodontics.
